Gross Point Blank - 1997

Friday November 13th - 7:30 pm

The film Grosse Pointe Blank (1997) is a dark comedy directed by George Armitage and starring John Cusack, Minnie Driver, Dan Aykroyd and Alan Arkin. The story follows Martin Blank, a professional hitman who returns to his hometown of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, for his ten-year high school reunion after accepting a contract nearby. While reconnecting with his former girlfriend, Debi, Martin begins to question his career choices and considers whether he can change his violent lifestyle. However, his plans become complicated when rival assassins and federal agents become involved. The film explores themes of identity, morality, regret and the difficulty of escaping the past. Combining sharp humour, action and romance, Grosse Pointe Blank offers a unique and entertaining take on the crime genre, balancing dark comedy with a story about personal change and second chances.
