FalFilm Members,

FalFilm, our membership-based community cinema club, is now approaching its first anniversary.

From the outset, our aim has been to bring people together in a relaxed and welcoming environment while showcasing a wide variety of films. Over the past year, we’ve screened an eclectic mix of genres to suit diverse tastes, with an average audience of around 17 members per screening.

We’re pleased to confirm that our film licence has been renewed for the 2026/27 season, and we now invite you to renew your membership for the year ahead, running from June 2026 to May 2027.

We’ve taken on board the many film suggestions shared by members and are delighted to include a number of these in the forthcoming programme. Recently, a small group of us met to plan the new season and, with two new additions to the FalFilm team, we’re excited to offer an even broader and more varied selection of films.

We are also introducing at least six additional Friday evening screenings under the banner of Alternative FalFilm. These will focus on less mainstream films and will be introduced with a short talk or pitch by Mark Rivers, who originally came up with the name FalFilm. These introductions will also provide an opportunity for members to suggest films for future alternative screenings.

In addition, we will host occasional Sunday afternoon screenings featuring classic black-and-white films, including much-loved favourites such as the Ealing Comedies.

We hope this expanded approach, together with the continued involvement and ideas of our members, will broaden our appeal and help grow our audience. All screenings will be available exclusively to FalFilm members and their guests.

We look forward to another enjoyable year of films together.
Please forward completed forms to a committee member or email them to vicechair@falfieldvillagehall.co.uk.
